FU LT

A few weeks back when we were shopping around for mortgages, we decided to try Lending Tree because “when banks compete, you win.” What they don’t tell you in the commercials is that you will be spammed (or bacn’d- according to Time Magazine it’s basically spam that you asked for) and called by every mortgage lender that you’ve never heard of- to the point where checking email, listening to answering machine messages, or just sitting in your apartment will be an incredible nuisance. The machine was filled so quickly that now the display just reads “FU”- which is fitting.

Everything has died down now; there is only the occasional email or call. Sorry to anyone that was actually trying to get in contact with us, but it did make us realize that having a home phone line is basically paying for a service that allows people you don’t even know to annoy you.
